Facebook.com/friendschelseadistrictlibrary A Message for the Friends of Chelsea District Library… It is the belief of the Friends of the Chelsea District Library that our library is the cornerstone of our community, providing opportunities for all to engage in the joy of life-long learning and to connect with the thoughts and ideas of others from ages past to the present. It is a place where all the voices in our community can come together to be heard. We all understand the critical importance of a well-funded library and the Friends work to ensure that our library gets the resources it needs to provide a wide variety of services to all ages. Since 1949 the Friends of the Chelsea District Library have been supporting our library through fundraising, community engagement, and volunteer efforts. This year alone the Friends have raised funds to help sponsor programming such as Authors in Chelsea, the Purple Rose Theatre Readings, Youth Summer Reading/Summer Learning Program, and the Midwest Literary Walk to name a few. Additionally, we thank our library staff for all their efforts with an appreciation luncheon. We can all help in raising funds to keep our library great by visiting the Friend's monthly book sales or becoming a member of the Friends of the Library. All funds raised at the book sale or through Friends memberships go directly to support our library's programs. Thank you for your Support!
